How to Make a Tax Payment
Checks
Please write your telephone number and your Property I.D. Number on your check for reference. Payment will be recorded on the date received-not the date it is mailed or the date the check is written.
Checks are accepted only as a conditional payment. If not honored by bank, tax is unpaid and subject to penalties and/or interest. The Township will assess a $30.00 fee each time a check is returned to us unpaid. Future payments will be applied to outstanding returned check charges prior to crediting your tax bill.
To Pay by Mail
Make checks payable and mail to “Frenchtown Treasurer” at 2744 Vivian Rd., Monroe, MI 48162. Place check inside remittance envelope provided (do not send cash). If a receipted copy is desired, you must enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your check.
To Pay in Person
Bring your tax bill with you to the Treasurer’s Department along with payment, or use the after hours drop box.
